Pioneer Day

This is a holiday I never really thought much of until I lived out of state and realize it is not really heard of  outside the state. I knew it was a state holiday, but also know we, Americans, take every holiday we can get. Now that I'm back in state, I realize how little it is celebrated; only those who do usually have children, or like the fireworks and other events actually celebrate. It was very sad. I remembered all the events I went to as a child and enjoyed, not realizing how limited the celebration was. There is also a bit of bitter irony, as I a non-Mormon, celebrate their holiday while many who claim the faith do not. I would think it would be important for them. So, here is a picture in celebration and the hope I have for it. For those who do not know the holiday or it's history, click here.
